I'm back....

I’m back….

I’m back….and moved. We are now residents of Walton, KY, a little town 30 minutes south of Cincinnati. All our earthly possessions were moved into our new house on Jan 2nd. At least the weather cooperated; it was cold but dry for the first couple of days. That was great because the day after we moved in we had to build a fence! Our dog, Moose, had been living in an apartment garage for over two months so we really needed to be able to let him out to run. So, after helping the movers pack out all three levels with boxes, Rodney and Michelle woke up early the next morning and stayed out all day in the freezing cold trying to keep the fence post auger from bogging down in the mud. Poor things. That night it started raining, but Rodney and Michelle got up the next morning and started it again…in worse mud. Michelle’s friend, Jake Perry, joined in with them by the afternoon. It was a messy job and they were chilled to the bone, but they got all posts drilled by Sunday evening. On Monday, all posts were cemented in and by Tuesday evening we had the hog wire part of the fence up; it was enough to let Moose out of the basement. He was SO happy to run free! He jumped and snorted and rolled around. Unfortunately, after only a day, the weather turned off so cold that he only goes out for a little while at a time. Even Moose, with his husky-like white, thick fur cannot tolerate this weather for long! And, unfortunately, when our little back yard is not frozen, it is extremely muddy. Most grass seeds did not have time to germinate before the freezes hit. Moose may be a brown dog by Spring.

Poor Moose Looks so sad in this picture :( He looks cold and old. Take him inside and give him a doggy treat!
